Day 1 – Time with the Kupu Kupu Foundation
The journey began at Kupu Kupu Foundation, where the ROAM team spent time with the children and supported improvements to the learning space.
Volunteers worked together to help clear and organize the area, carefully removing materials from the roof structure and preparing the space so it could be restored. While some focused on the physical work, others spent time interacting with the children, sharing laughter and conversation throughout the day.
It was a meaningful start to the week, grounded in teamwork and community spirit.
Day 2 – Community Engagement at Bali Life Suwung
On the second day, the team visited Bali Life Suwung Community Centre, a community hub that supports families in the surrounding area.
The day was filled with activities supporting the community center’s programs, including assisting with community services and contributing to improvements within the neighborhood. Volunteers worked alongside local residents, creating a collaborative environment where everyone participated together.
Moments of conversation and shared experience made the day particularly meaningful.
Day 3 – Supporting a Local Early Childhood School
Day three brought the team to PAUD Kumara Dharma Shanti, where efforts focused on improving the school environment.
Volunteers worked together on outdoor improvements, including preparing and installing paving and refreshing playground equipment with new paint. These small but important efforts help create a safer and more welcoming environment for young students.
Throughout the day, the school community welcomed the team warmly, making the experience both productive and memorable.
Day 4 – Creativity and Learning at Efata School
At Sekolah Dasar Teologi Kristen Efata, the focus shifted toward creativity and shared learning.
The ROAM volunteers worked with students and teachers to create colorful murals around the school grounds and refresh playground equipment. Beyond the physical improvements, volunteers also spent time inside classrooms engaging with the children through activities and conversations.
The day highlighted the joy that comes from simple moments of connection.
Day 5 – Environmental Efforts in Nusa Penida
The initiative continued beyond mainland Bali with a visit to Nusa Penida.
Here, the focus turned toward environmental stewardship through coral planting activities, supporting efforts to help protect and restore marine ecosystems. The team also spent time with children on the island, sharing stories, games, and moments of laughter.
The day served as a reminder that caring for communities also includes caring for the natural environments that sustain them.
Day 6 – A Meaningful Closing with the Niti Mandala Community
The final day brought everyone together at PKBM Niti Mandala Club, where the week concluded in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
Volunteers and students shared lunch together, participated in classroom activities, and ended the program with music and dancing. It was a joyful way to close a week that had been filled with new friendships and shared experiences.
A Week Centered on People
While each day brought different activities, the heart of the initiative remained the same: connection.
Through time spent listening, working together, and learning from one another, the week reflected the importance of community-centered collaboration.
We extend our appreciation to ROAM Humanitarian and their volunteers for leading this initiative with care and dedication, and to the local organizations and communities who welcomed the team so openly.
